Chinatown A'dam 2nd session

Today we explored again Chinatown in Amsterdam. We searched for our subject: her name is Lyu Yu, she's a doctor, she's been living in the Netherlands for 16 years. Lyu comes from the southern part of China, she speaks Dutch and English very fluently and she's been very kind and smiley with us. As many of the other owners of shops in Chinatown, she's not living close to the shop. (in the street most inhabitants are dutch.).We filmed the shop for a couple of hours being impressed by the amount of people entering it. Today was also the Chinese New Year, and a parade with fireworks and dancing dragons took place in the street.

Sponsorship needed

Beijing: we need a sponsorship for our workshop.
How much: 12000 euro would be helpful
N° of companies: 325
Taskforce: 9 people
What: collecting addresses, fold, close and then send letters

First presentation 150207

On Friday we had our first short presentation of the mapping exercise. Interesting works popped up, and we had a lot of fun in making our preliminary "fortune cat" based site
Different were the approaches, somebody focused on data gathering, some other focused already on mapping. In our case we tried to combine both trying to find a strong image. Our mapping subject is the "chinese doctor", and we tried to give the website an interface that could link to chinese medicine.

From Maya dynamics to real dynamics

Today we had a tranversal experience. Started with maya in the morning, in the afternoon...dancing!! Never had such an experience in a faculty of architecture!!! And tomorrow again!! At the beginning we seemed to walk in space with no logic, but as soon we broke the ice with each other, nice figures started to appear spontaneously. Our mentor was Susanna Recchia, from London .

A'dam Chinatown, 1st round

Yesterday we went to Chinatown in Amsterdam. As we already knew it's almost only one street, populated mainly by restaurant displaying roasted ducks...delicious taste! After a half a hour massage, relaxed and fresh we filmed for an hour the street noticing how people reacted to the videocamera. Everybody wanna be a star!
Alternative medicine doctors are also amazing (we got some cold) , one of them gave us a bag full of herbs for making tea. And they really worked!! Amazing is the care they put in selecting and mixing them!
